DAY ONE

Arrival and Orientation

Families will arrive in Seattle by 4 p.m. Upon arrival, we’ll provide a shuttle service to your hotel to settle in. Afterward, we’ll gather for an Orientation at 6 p.m. to review the week ahead, pack our gear, and get to know one another before starting our adventure.

DAY TWO

Travel to the San Juan Islands & Begin Sea Kayaking

After breakfast, we’ll depart Seattle by 8:00 a.m., heading toward the Anacortes Ferry Terminal for the scenic 2-hour drive. We’ll take the ferry to Orcas Island, and then make our way to the northern end of the island to begin our sea kayaking experience. After an introduction to kayaking—covering everything from paddling technique to safety—we’ll embark on our first paddle: a 2.5-mile journey to Sucia Island. Once we set up camp, we’ll enjoy a Family Coach programming session, followed by appetizers, dinner, and dessert. We’ll wrap up the evening with fireside chats.

DAY THREE

Kayak to Patos Island

After breakfast, we’ll paddle 3 miles to Patos Island. The island is home to a lighthouse and offers a lovely hiking trail with breathtaking views. After lunch and exploration, we’ll return to Sucia Island for some personal time before gathering for appetizers, dinner, and a family game night.

DAY FOUR

Kayak to Matia Island

We’ll spend the day paddling to Matia Island, a 2.5-mile trip to discover the island’s lush forests and fascinating sandstone formations. Enjoy lunch on the island and a peaceful walk through its magical landscape before returning to Sucia Island for more personal time, followed by a cozy dinner and evening game.

DAY FIVE

Explore Sucia Island

Today is all about exploring our home base on Sucia Island. We’ll paddle through its many coves and bays, exploring tide pools and keeping an eye out for seals and sea otters. Along the way, we’ll marvel at the stunning cliffs shaped by the wind and sea. A midday hike will offer more opportunities to connect with nature. In the afternoon, we’ll gather for a reflective family conversation and coach-guided discussion on how everyone is doing together. The evening will close with appetizers, dinner, and free time.

DAY 6

Return to Seattle

After an early paddle back to Orcas Island, we’ll pack up and head to the charming town of Eastsound for some leisure time. Families will have the opportunity to shop, enjoy lunch, and relax before boarding the ferry back to the mainland. Once we arrive in Anacortes, we’ll drive back to Seattle and check into a hotel near the airport. Dinner will be provided, but families will be responsible for their meals and drinks. We will offer transportation to and from the restaurant.
