Parent Coaching

Our Parent Coaching Services are for parents who are eager to make a positive change at home while supporting a child facing psychological distress. Whether your child is dealing with typical growing pains or more significant mental health challenges, they deserve thoughtful, informed, and committed parents who are dedicated to growing for the benefit of their families.

Whether your child is struggling with long-standing anxiety, a recent autism diagnosis, a mood or personality disorder, or issues that disrupt the peace at home, we are here to support you. If your child is involved in or returning from an IOP, PHP, wilderness therapy, therapeutic boarding school, residential treatment center, outpatient therapy, or even refusing therapy, we can guide you in supporting them effectively.

Your coach will help you to hone in on achievable goals, own what you can control, master new techniques and enact new strategies and change within your parenting approach.

If you're ready to see yourself and your home in a whole new light, this service is for you.

When parents reach out to us, this is what we hear:

"We cannot keep going in this direction. We are afraid to parent, afraid to set boundaries, afraid to not set boundaries, we fight each other over being too loose or too strict as parents and who’s at fault for what. All the while, our kid isolates in their room while the anxiety and depression take over."

"Our child has been in treatment for 9 months and now is coming home and even though he has done so much work, we are not sure our home is ready for him. If we are being honest, now that he is on his way we are realizing that we have not done enough of our own work and we are bringing him back to the same environment he left. We are going to ruin all of the hard work he has put in if we don’t start parent coaching."

"We've tried everything — read all the books, gone to every type of therapy — but we just can't seem to change our daughter's behavior. We need a new way to be together and connect with her, even if she keeps making the same choices."

What We Do

Our coaches are here to be your guides and to challenge you to be the best parent for the situations you face.. Through a process of combining individualized therapeutic and coaching techniques that work for you, we guide you to honing habits that can be sustained through the ups and downs of moving towards your goals.

We help you get clear on what you want, how to make it happen, and avoid the stuff that messes you up. Over time, we’ll help you build good habits and shift your mindset so you can get more of what you want and less of what you don’t.

How We do it

Our Pathways to Mastery model encourages:

  • Proactive, committed engagement in a process of change
  • Skill building to shore up the foundation of your family. If we make the foundation solid, then we can build on it without fear of it crumbling.
  • Long term habits, not band aid fixes
  • The belief that change is an investment and that your family is worth the investment. And that it is likely riskier to not put in the time.
  • Soaking up support from peers to solidify your growth

What parents say after they have been working with us:

"I wish we had found you years ago; we might not have found ourselves where we did."

"My kid still has a lot of struggle moments but I feel way more stable, clear with what my boundary is and proud when I hold it. I don’t let his emotional turmoil take charge of the whole house anymore…and I went to yoga 4 times in the past 2 weeks!"

"My wife and I were at opposite ends of everything and we worked against each other in a battle for who was more right, almost losing sight of what our kids needed. We now have a plan (and yes we are sticking to it) that guides us toward a healthy middle path with decisions. We finally see each other as teammates again and it has changed our whole home. So much of the struggles were about us and we kept blaming our kids and each other. When are you moving in with us?"

Parent Coaching Pathways To Mastery

Our first Pathway Toward Mastery is designed to Stabilize your situation; we help you feel confident and strong with what you do (actions and responses), compassionate and clear with how (and why) you do it and we help you to evolve your situation in baby steps to get closer to the lives you want.

Life will feel less erratic, less unpredictable and will be less at risk of falling apart. You will learn the basics of staying connected and kind in really hard relationships that matter to you so you don’t lose your connection. Your coach will help you to hone in on achievable goals, own what you can control, master new techniques and enact new strategies to bring stability to whatever challenges you want to maneuver through with more grace and skill. If you are ready for strategic support in shifting patterns, reactions and plans then this is the service for you.

We see stabilizing as the most important step and so we include a membership to 6 support groups, facilitated once a week and recorded so that you can listen in after the fact even if you are not able to join live.

At this point, you are witnessing increased stability in your day-to-day life. You have honed your awareness of the factors contributing to the unhealthy norms, as well as achievable goals and expectations for yourself and others; you have started to claim what you have control over and you are more compassionate and less reactive. There are fewer daily events that destabilize the home and fewer moments when self-doubt sneaks in as you face new situations that you are not sure how to manage.

Through this next Pathway Toward Mastery, the focus is on maintaining a new, healthier norm to ensure that the situation does not slide back so far that it causes harm. Some backsliding will happen and our focus is on enhancing resilience and skill around those situations to keep the whole family from backsliding as the result of one person’s struggle. You will identify what tools and approaches seem to have staying power and you will develop mastery over those, knowing when, why and how to enact them. Based on your readiness in this tier, you will start to take the baton with slightly less support from us to build confidence in your "wise-minded parenting gut".

With this Pathway you have optional membership into our monthly groups and at a discounted price, which includes 6 weekly groups, access to the recorded sessions and extra content.

At this stage, you are expertly navigating the balance between connection, attunement, and expectations, ensuring that your relationships remain strong while promoting responsibility rather than entitlement.

You possess a deep understanding of the underlying factors contributing to problematic behavior, both in yourself and others, and are adept at managing discomfort without being overwhelmed.

You will leverage the insights and skills you’ve developed to refine and enhance your approach, adapting strategies to address the current dynamics within your home effectively.

With an Optimize contract comes a discounted price for our optional group membership, which includes 6 weekly groups, access to the recorded sessions and extra content.

This is the pathway to mastery that offers the least support and presumes that a family is not in crisis but is looking to continue to have people on the team who “get it” and with whom they can strategize as situations arise. Most families engage in this pathway of support after completing at least one other Pathway prior, so that the coach knows your family, your lifestyle, your values, your strengths and your limitations well enough to guide you in informed ways. Our Strategize tier is seen as a bit of a booster shot for families who want reminders and accountability for enacting the tools they know.
