Jen Murphy, M.Ed.

Co-Owner, Parent Coach & Transition Specialist

I have worked in a wide variety of clinical settings within the therapeutic industry from the wilderness milieu to outpatient services and transitional support. I have extensive experience working with a multitude of populations specifically adolescents, young adults, their parents and families. I have become an expert in the field of providing effective parent coaching to parents as they transition their children from out of home and long-term treatment programs.

In addition to developing and implementing two nationally recognized transitional programs, I have been recognized in my success at being able to assist and educate others, specifically within family systems and the parent coaching field. As my career has evolved over the last 25 years, I constantly seek and find more opportunities to teach as well as to learn from the parents I am in connection with.

When I am in my parent coaching role, I am known for my insightful, practical and direct approach while bringing an enormous amount of compassion and support to the parents I work with.

I am an adjunct faculty member in the Social Sciences Department at Colorado Mountain College. This provides me an additional area of richness in my life each year I teach. I am an avid mountain biker, skier and traveler. In my personal world, I am constantly trying to learn more about myself and how to pivot on a daily basis with more grace. And I always enjoy forced family fun time, with my husband and two sons as we navigate the teenage years.

Jen is phenomenal. She has an incredible calm about her that I have never seen in anyone. She listened well and reacted appropriately to two very different people. She had great patience with me while I figured out what she was coaching me about and kept repeating herself for four months until I finally got it. We would not have had the same family result without Jen’s guidance and support.
